Back in the swing of things

Thankfully, my sweet little one has turned a corner and is feeling better. There are still sores in her mouth, that bleed sometimes, but for the most part she has been happy, smiling, and playing like normal. She has had a good few days, for which I am very grateful.

We had a good Easter with family and some pictures will follow. ( I forgot my camera, so pictures are on other cameras that I need to get a hold of). Here is a cute video of Macy doing what she does. She has started singing Twinkle Twinkle, Rock a bye baby, and saying some phrases of nursery rhymes. It has been so fun to watch her grow and blossom lately.

Oh so sick

So, my sweet little Macy.....who is usually happy, smiling, giggling and talking up a storm has not been that way for over a week now.
Starting last Monday, the 11th, she woke up with a fever of 102. That was the start of the most horrible week we've had in a LONG time. She was lethargic, didn't want to eat anything, fussy, and crying pretty much the whole day and just needy.
She wanted to be picked up, then she wanted down, she wanted a bite, and then she'd spit it out. Nothing was right. And anything Kevin and I tried just made her mad. We'd put her in the bath in the middle of the day, which would help for a while, then she'd want out of the bath (NOW) and then the fussy mad time would continue. We actually were only able to get her to eat a pancake one morning......while she was in the bathtub.

Needless to say, she was feeling awful, and Kevin and I were miserable because we couldn't help her.

We took her to her pediatrician on Monday, and he told us she has Coxsackie Virus (Hand/Foot/Mouth Disease). Although she didn't have any sores on her hands or feet, her mouth was filled with sores and her gums were bright red. No wonder she hasn't been eating anything.

Since it's a virus, there is nothing we can do about it. He said usually it runs its course in 7-10 days. By Monday we were at day 7.

Well, today is Wednesday, and thankfully she looks like she might be on the downhill slide of things. Actually eating things periodically, and Ibuprofen is helping. No fever since Monday night, so we might be ok.

Please pray this ends soon. We want our smiley, happy, fun little one back.
p.s. we finally have enough hair for pony tails. She actually leaves them alone and asks for "two pony tails" in the morning when she wakes up. Too sweet.

Surprise in the tub

My sweet little girl has been telling me when she goes potty. She'll hunch over and grab her diaper and say poop....in more of a question "pooooooop?". And she has begun to think its funny when she "toot toot"s.
So, the other night she was in the bath tub playing with her toys, and she looks up at me and says, "toot". I said, "oh, did Macy toot toot?"
Then, all the sudden, there was something floating in the water, that wasn't a rubber ducky. It actually took me a second to realize what had happened. I yelled for Kevin (thankfully he was home), and he came up and wrapped her up in her towel, so i could clean up the mess. As soon as I pulled her out of the water, there were about 3-4 more little floaties in the water.

*Sigh*

This is the first time she's ever done this, so I would say that after 16 1/2 months, that I've been pretty lucky.
Now the task of clorox-ing all her toys and cleaning the tub.
****
Update. The above story was April 1st. Maybe a cruel April Fools joke??? But last night (the 4th), she was taking another bath, and looked at me and said "Macy poop in the tub?" I said "no, thats yucky, Macy no poop in the tub". Then she started to get fussy like she needed to poop. So, out of the tub she came....after only 5 minutes.
I hope this poop in the tub isn't a trend.

THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE THIS DISGUSTING STORY :)
